OSU Extension Farm First Aid Training in English and Spanish, March 7th, 12:30 to 5 pm, Pendleton, OR
Are your prepared to deal with a serious accident on your farm? This training will cover important first aid skills to respond to farm accidents and common hazards on the farm that can be safely mitigated. Oregon OSHA Heat Illness Prevention rules and required training will also be briefly covered. Class costs $40 per person paid by cash or check at the door. Course instructor, Jacob Powell, is an OSU Extension Ag Faculty based in North Central Oregon and is a certified CPR / First Aid Instructor for American Red Cross and Wilderness First Responder.
Training will cover:
- Hands on training to respond to accidents on the farm, including amputations, impaled objects, severe bleeding, and CPR
- Farm safety considerations for tractors, ATVs, equipment, and powerlines
- Oregon OSHA Heat Illness Prevention rules and required training requirements
- Class will be in both English and Spanish with an experienced Spanish interpreter and first aid instructor providing live interpretation
- Certificates will be provided to participants and are good for 2 years
- An English only class will be offered in La Grande on February 3rd, call if interested
