Warren E. Kronstad Crop Science Memorial Conference Room

There are few individuals in the world who have had such an impact on agriculture, such as Dr. Warren Kronstad. To recognize these many contributions, the Oregon Wheat Foundation, in conjunction with OSU are planning to refurbish and dedicate a conference room in the Crop Science Building of OSU in honor of Dr. Kronstad. The conference room is to highlight Kronstad's many accomplishments and display many of his professional awards and memorabilia.

Bushels For Betsy

Bushels for Betsy Turns a New Page:  In 1997 the Oregon Wheat Foundation launched the Bushels for Betsy project, a program that allows wheat producers to join the fight against hunger in Oregon. Oregon wheat producers generously contributed over 33,000 pounds of baking and/or pancake mix through this worthwhile program under the leadership of Tom Winn, OWF Chair.

Warren E. Kronstad Graduate Fellowship

Established in honor of former OSU Distinguished Professor of Plant Breeding and Genetics Dr. Warren E. Kronstad, the Kronstad Fellowships support graduate student work and interaction between the Wheat Breeding Program at Oregon State University and the CIMMYT research facility in Mexico.

Future Leaders of Agriculture Program

The Foundation sponsors a trip for one or two young wheat growers to attend the Mission to Washington DC held by the Oregon Wheat Growers League. This sponsorship allows young farmers to become acquainted with the policy and legislative process in the nation's capital and visit with Oregon legislators and federal agency representatives firsthand.

Wheat Research Report

Funds received through auctions and donations that are conducted periodically to raise funds are designated for Oregon State University’s Agricultural Experiment Stations. OWF can also accept funds designated only for research support. The new equipment assists researchers in their effort to fight wheat disease, breeds better yielding and higher quality wheats, and keeps Oregon in the forefront by delivering quality wheat to our customers.
