International Agriculture Fellowship
Announced by Eisenhower Fellowships

PHILADELPHIA – October 4, 2006-- Eisenhower Fellowships is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2007-2008 agriculture fellowship programs.  Priority will be given to applications in one of the following focus areas: Energy, Trade, Water and Agriculture, and Food Safety and Security.  One individual will travel abroad in 2007, and another in 2008, to meet with small and commercial farmers, farm organizations, companies, national government representatives, and university researchers on the selected topic. 

 

The program is for farmers and ranchers aged 32-45 with an established leadership track record and long term commitment to agriculture sector leadership.  Fellows travel abroad for 4 to 8 weeks, with an individually-tailored itinerary of meetings with counterparts and key professionals in the selected country. The fellowship covers all international and domestic travel, hotel accommodations, and meals for Fellow and spouse. 

Eisenhower Fellowships is a private, non-profit, non-partisan organization seeking to foster dialogue and leadership through the exchange of information, ideas, and perspectives among emerging leaders throughout the world.  Established in 1953 as a birthday tribute to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the organization has sponsored some 1700 Fellows from more than 100 countries.  The chairman of Eisenhower Fellowships is General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.).
